Cats & Camera

“Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.”

Robert A. Heinlein

It’s as simple as that. We should get used to this and make lives easier.  Till we achieve that lets focus on photography with cats as our subject. Cats… *looks out a distance* Time for a life story hatemondays Ok, wrong life story! Coming back to cats; I always wanted one but it comes out I’m allergic to their fur. Sad, I know. It’s a tragic love story. But! *cues the plot twist* Recently, my cousin decided to be kind to a stray cat and now that cat pretty much lives at his house. He gave it a name too. The names Zapper! Purrr, get it? Get it? :3 Here are some clicks, enjoy! “Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.” Robert A. Heinlein Cats & Camera. Watch Photography – Fossil

I have always been a big fan of watches and if it has a leather strap and is black in color <– that ladies and gentlemen, is swoon-worthy.

I have one myself and wear it almost everywhere though it has started to look pretty ‘worn’ I love it too much to replace it. It hasn’t achieved in making me much punctual but like Gandalf said; Continue reading

Raindrops and their upside down world

“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.”

-Josh Ruskin

It was a really nice rainy day. Ok, it was a rainy day and any rainy day is nice for me because I absolutely love rain. Don’t you? 🙂

Come on! How can you not? The beautiful sound when the raindrops hits the roof, how green and fresh everything gets after it has rained and most importantly, it is coming down from God!

With rain come raindrops! 😀

Ok, stop giving me that ’duh’ look -.- Continue reading

Food Photography

“Food is our common ground, a universal experience.”

-James Beard

So my teacher noticed how passionate I am about photography and *drumroll* gave me an amazing opportunity to go with her to this eating place ‘Frutti5’ (frozen yogurt and all, ya know) to do a photo-shoot of their food products.

It was a really nice experience, to be honest and I got a big bowl of blueberry frozen yogurt at the end – wait for it – with a lot of toppings on it too! 😉  which i didn’t eat because I’m not really a fan of frozen yogurt. 😐

Fire Photography

“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quite understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowance for human weaknesses.”

-Ann Landers

Having a family Bar-BQ meant for me; an amazing opportunity to capture fire.

It had always fascinated me with all its colors; shades of yellow, red, orange and sometimes even blue. How fascinating, right? *goofy grin*

The Time Assignment

“How did it get so late so soon? Its night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flown. How did it get so late so soon?”

-Dr. Seuss

I got this assignment to choose one place or object present outside. Outside because you need sunlight.

Choose timings like morning/sunrise, afternoon, evening/sunset and night time/totally dark.

Take pictures at the same spot by changing your settings as needed. You can also make a collage at the end to compare your results.

This is my first try and my teacher did tell me to keep on practicing this but… oh well, enough of me! *sheepishly smiles*

Objective

It’s a really good assignment to practice your camera’s settings as you have to change your setting at every new timing you take the picture. You get to know your camera in a better way.

DSLR isn’t really compulsory, you know

You don’t have a DSLR?

So you think; why even give photography a try. Right?

*gives the look* I say, you think again.

Because it wasn’t a DSLR that helped me in photography

Photography is art and for me, the most important thing in art; is having a connection.

A connection, which in the case of photography, with your camera.

  • How well do you know your camera?
  • How comfortable do you feel with it?
  • and so on…

When you have that connection; you get the result! Guaranteed, a really good result that you can be proud of. 🙂  Continue reading
